About Repair Highways

For informational purposes only. The content on this page is educational and does not constitute insurance advice. Repair Highways is not an insurance company, agent, or broker.

Repair Highways is an independent, education-first publication that explains how collision repair and the auto insurance claims process actually work. We do not sell, quote, broker, or recommend insurance policies.

Our story

Built for the person holding the estimate.

We started Repair Highways because vehicle owners are often handed an estimate, a parts list, and a calibration invoice with no explanation of what any of it means. The terms feel like a second language, the line items run past a single page, and the follow-up calls add more questions than answers.

Our editorial team — based in Cheyenne, Wyoming — works from publicly available OEM repair procedures, position statements, and standard estimating guides to demystify the documents and the language used by adjusters and body shops.

What we offer

Useful, unbiased, free to read.

Plain-language guides

Articles that translate estimate codes, repair procedures, and adjuster language into everyday English.

Process walkthroughs

Step-by-step coverage of how a collision file moves from intake to teardown to delivery.

Calibration explainers

Why ADAS calibration is required after specific repairs, and what proper documentation looks like.

Value protection

Background on diminished value, betterment, and the records that matter at resale.

Our vision

A more transparent repair experience.

We picture a world where every vehicle owner can read their own estimate, ask informed questions, and follow each step of the repair with confidence. The estimate stops being a black box, the calibration stops being a surprise, and the claim stops being something that happens to you.

Why Repair Highways

  • Independent — no insurance carrier, agency, or lead aggregator pays for editorial coverage.
  • Reviewed against publicly available OEM repair procedures and standard estimating guides.
  • Written for vehicle owners, not for industry insiders.
  • Free to read, with no account required.
